This case shows a before picture showing unnaturally shaped and irregularly colored old fillings. These have been replaced with veneers. Veneers are thin disc-like coverings bonded over the front surfaces of the teeth. They can be made in office in one visit, using composite resin or made in the laboratory, requiring a second visit, using either composite resin or, for more durable, color stable restorations, porcelain. |
In this situation, stained, leaking and breaking silver fillings have been replaced with bonded, tooth colored composite resin. These fillings seal better than the silver and have obvious esthetic advantages. |
